World Wide Technology (WWT) is hiring for a production-level technician to perform configuration and testing of networking and telecom equipment. You will follow detailed instructions from Engineering and liaise with NAIC facilities to troubleshoot devices across multiple vendors.

The role emphasizes switching, routing, wireless, and server hardware, with responsibilities including OEM case facilitation, accurate paperwork for reverse logistics, and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in information technology or related field required.
• CCNA preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ progressive experience in related field.

A Brief Overview

Perform production level logical configurations and testing. Follow detailed work instructions provide by Engineering teams. Communicate with multiple members of the project team within and NAIC facilities. Perform troubleshooting of multiple device types to isolate issues resulting from failing hardware or software. Open and facilitate OEM level cases when needed. Communicate with multiple members of the project team within and NAIC facilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of multiple vendor networking, wireless, telecom and collaboration devices.
• Troubleshooting of equipment such as core network storage and server technologies, or general telecommunication product.
• Facilitate opening and resolution of OEM cases and work directly with OEM engineers
• Complete all required paperwork required fo.r reverse logistics, non-conformance and OEM trouble cases
• Lead troubleshooting process for defective devices, logical issues, or systematic errors on a wide range of technologies.
• Communicate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Ensures compliance with established codes, regulations, and standards.
• Logical work to load OS (Operating system), loading license, and update firmware per customer requirements.
• Configure, upgrade, and test networking and telecom equipment (routers, switches, servers, wireless, voice, video, radio access network items based on program need)
• Understanding of installation and configuration instructions with various platforms of hardware and ensures accurate information capture
• Complete physical audit of equipment and accessories.

• Ability to read engineering drawings (network designs documents, rack elevations) where applicable
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of a broad range of network infrastructure cable types and best practices.
• Ability to take instruction and independently execute on the directives.
• This role includes assignment of work for specific WWT customers. Some customers have specific on-boarding requirements, including background check and drug testing requirements that go beyond WWT’s requirements. Ability to meet these requirements may be necessary for continued employment, depending on needs of the department.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $21.35 - $25.48 an hour. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
