We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional to manage and evolve our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ServiceNow ITSM environment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy, structure, and health of our configuration data, which supports IT service management and operational efficiency.

As the Configuration Management Specialist, you’ll be responsible for maintaining data integrity across the CMDB, validating relationships between configuration items (CIs), and ensuring alignment with organizational policies and best practices. You'll work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and map service dependencies that enhance asset tracking and service impact analysis

A key part of this role involves assessing current integrations with external systems and recommending improvements using native ServiceNow tools. You’ll also play a leadership role in driving automation—whether it’s implementing discovery tools, refining reconciliation processes, or introducing workflows that enhance CMDB maintenance and audit controls.

This position offers the opportunity to shape the strategic use of ServiceNow’s CMDB capabilities, driving process improvement and supporting the broader goals of IT operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain and govern the CMDB in ServiceNow, ensuring it aligns with configuration management policies.
• Review and validate CI data and their relationships to uphold accuracy and dependency structures.
• Analyze current integration points between external systems and the CMDB, and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to define and document service dependency maps that support ITSM processes.
• Propose improvements to existing CI audit and maintenance procedures to increase CMDB maturity and reliability.
• Lead initiatives to implement automated discovery and reconciliation using ServiceNow and third-party tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Tanium).
• Support CMDB data quality through automation of health checks, workflows, and integration reconciliations.
• Document updates to control processes, architecture, and integration methods to ensure ongoing alignment with IT objectives.

What You Bring:

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, focusing on administration, development, and support.
• A strong understanding of ServiceNow’s CMDB architecture and the broader Configuration Management System (CMS).
• Proven track record of deploying automated solutions for CI discovery, validation, reconciliation, and workflow enhancement.
• Experience working with tools like ServiceNow Discovery, Dynatrace, and Tanium.
• Solid grasp of relational databases, with proficiency in Microsoft SQL for querying and supporting data integrity.
• Familiarity with integration methods and tools used within ServiceNow environments.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
• Analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Able to manage tasks independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
