Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Naval Hardware and Software Configuration Management Lead in Washington, DC, to drive rigorous CM across hardware and software for the PAERAS program. You will develop CMPs, lead CCBs, and coordinate with NAVSUP, ISEA, and shipyards to ensure fleet readiness.

The role requires 10+ years of CM experience, deep knowledge of EIA-649 and NAVSEA policies, and the ability to communicate with senior leaders. Security clearance is required; DoW elements awareness is a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of configuration management across hardware and software.
• Led CCBs, ECPs, FCA and PCA audits.
• Knowledge of CM standards and Navy policy (EIA-649, MIL‑HDBK‑61, NAVSEA 4130.12, NAVAIR 4130.1).
• Understanding DoW Integrated Product Support elements and cross-element CM.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders across the PAE RAS enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and artifacts.
• Chair or support the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
• Tailor EIA‑649‑1A contract requirements to program needs.
• Define and control functional, allocated, and product baselines.
• Manage CI identification and the authoritative Technical Data Package (TDP).
• Lead Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), waivers and deviations, and ORDals/ALTERs per NAVSEA policy.
• Manage Technical Directives (TDs) including formal and interim changes to reach the fleet.
• Maintain Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) and a single source of truth for configuration data.
• Publish authoritative CSA reports and audit trails.
• Plan and lead Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA and PCA).
• Coordinate across the enterprise with ISEAs, NAVSUP, and shipyards for provisioning/obsolescence.
• Align CM with SE and PM reviews (PDR, CDR, SVR, FRP) per DoD best practices.
