Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Configuration Analyst Level II at our Sykesville, MD location. The role supports tracking and controlling technical documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency, leading CCB meetings, and aiding PLM system usage.

The position emphasizes establishing baselines, change control, audits, and collaboration with engineering, QA, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to meet standards and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant experience; 6 years experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Experience following documented rules and guidelines to ensure technical content meets requirements.
• Entry level experience in CAD CREO10 and similar engineering tools.
• Strong written and verbal skills to interact with other functional organizations.
• US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist document authors with MPLM System document creation.
• Assist with Engineering Change requests and material requests; CAD library requests.
• Review MPLM System metadata for completeness and accuracy.
• Provide EC reports and data for metrics and presentations.
• Assist with uploading documents to MPLM System and defining relationships with SAP.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Configuration Analyst Level II for our Sykesville, Maryland location.

The configuration management analyst supports and implements processes for tracking and controlling technical documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency. Represents the configuration and data management function executing engineering administrative tasks. Reviews, interprets, and/or implements configuration management policies and procedures. Executes documentation updates per engineering change procedures for mechanical, electrical, and special hardware assemblies, as directed by the engineering organization. Will lead and facilitate configuration control board (CCB) review meetings, create agendas and produce output minutes used to track design changes. In this capacity, the configuration analyst assists the Engineering organization with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system to control product baselines, accurately document changes and track status of documentation releases. Additional tasks will be assigned to complete CAD documentation updates using CREO 10, Adobe Acrobat, and other tools used by engineers and technical personel. Key responsibilities include establishing baselines, managing change control, conducting audits, and collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, manufacture and other supporting teams to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of configuration management principles and practices.
• Proficiency in managing and controlling product baselines of hardware drawings electrical/mechanical, test documentation, processes and procedures.
• Experience with change control processes and version control systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and procedures.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Assist document authors with document creation within the MPLM System
• Assisting Engineers with creation of Engineering Change requests, Component and Material requests, CAD Library requests and additional MPLM processes.
• Review metadata and items within the MPLM System for completeness as required
• Provide EC reports and collect data for metrics and presentation updates
• Assist document authors in the upload of documents to the MPLM System
• Assist document authors in establishing the correct relationships within the MPLM System and other supporting tools (SAP) that work in conjunction with manufacture operations and supply chain management
• Complete documentation updates using CAD tools (CREO10, AdobeAcrobat, Visio and MS Word)

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 0 year of relevant experience. In-lieu of college degree, 6 years of relevant experience in Project or Process Administration
• Experience following documented rules and guidelines to ensure technical content meets internal and customer requirements.
• Entry level experience in CAD CREO10 and other similar engineering tools.
• Strong written and verbal skills to effectively interact with other functional organizations.
• US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance Secret (or higher)
• Working knowledge of EIA-649 or MIL-HDBK-61A
• Experience working in a configuration management product life cycle system (i.e., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, etc.)
• Working knowledge and understanding of engineering documentation (i.e., models, drawings, specifications, parts, change notices, manufacturing plans, and manufacturing procedures)
• Experience in military, government, commercial aerospace industry (e.g., aviation/equipment maintenance, aircraft operations, or commercial industrial technology companies)
• Experience working in an Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System (i.e., Deltek, Oracle, SAP, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,400.00 - $108,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
