Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Conference and Banquet Manager to lead events for Northwestern University downtown, including the Prtizker School of Law and Feinberg School of Medicine. You will manage conferences, provide personalized client solutions, and collaborate with the operations team to exceed client expectations.

You will oversee catering events, ensure high service standards, and drive menu planning, staffing, and cost controls across busy on-site functions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in hospitality industry including four years in management (preferably Catering Management)
• ServSafe Certified a plus
• Must have a valid clean driving license

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees catering events for banquets and conferences
• Develops and maintains the catering and event plan including menu development and conference planning
• Hires, trains, and schedules catering/event staff and develops service techniques and policies
• Ensures successful operations of catering functions including labor and foods cost control, transportation, setup, and cleanup
• Books, selects and costs menu items, pricing contracts and resourcing temporary help and equipment
