Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is seeking a Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs for Confectionery, North America, to lead regulatory strategy and science substantiation across products.

Reporting to regional leadership, you will drive end-to-end regulatory compliance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Legal, and Supply Chain; you will build and mentor a high-performing SRA team and influence external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of BSc in Food Science, Nutrition, Toxicology, Chemistry, Food Law, or a related technical discipline. MSc or PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive scientific and regulatory affairs experience in food & beverage, confectionery, or FMCG/CPG.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct people leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Strategy for Compliance, Innovation, Horizon Scanning & Technical Advocacy.
• Regulatory Compliance for confectionery formulations, raw materials, claims & packaging to protect brand & ensure FTO.
• Innovation Enablement: guide NPD/NPI lifecycle with evidence-based regulatory support.
