Job summary

United Auto Exchange (UAX) in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Condition Report Writer to assess vehicles entering the auction for condition, depreciation, missing parts, mechanical issues, and damage. The role requires documenting findings with reports and photos and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure smooth workflow.

This full-time position starts at $16–$17 per hour, with benefits, PTO, and 401(k) eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard/transmission.
• Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Good time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect exterior and interior of vehicles entering the auction and identify damage.
• Document vehicle condition with reports, photos, and data entry.
• Coordinate with Fleet Lease, Mechanic, and Detail Department and communicate issues.
• Relocate vehicles to proper staging area after inspection.
• Handle customer inquiries courteously and inform management of incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We have an immediate opening for aCondition Report Writer (CR Writer). The responsibility of the CR Writer is to assess vehicles entering the auction for condition, depreciation, missing parts, mechanical issues, and damage/structural damage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect exterior and interior of vehicle entering the auction, identifying damage, missing parts, and mechanical issues
• Document vehicle condition by completing appropriate report, capturing photos, and entering data systematically in a timely manner
• Maintain vital communications with Fleet Lease, Mechanic, and Detail Department - keeping each department informed of any issue(s).
• Relocate vehicles to proper staging zone post inspection
• Resolve any customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner; advise management of all complaints or incidents
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience and Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and manual transmission
• Mechanical aptitude strongly preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Requires good time management, organizational and communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent and/or prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping
• Must be able to lift or move items at least 25 pounds
• Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Physical Work Environment:

• Exposure to outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors and dust.
