Qualifications

  • Experience with mechanical and pneumatic tooling and equipment.
  • Must pass safety trainings (OSHA 10, Fall Protection, Scaffold Use).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of condenser operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic tooling and equipment.
  • Operate hand, pneumatic and hydraulic tools safely and proficiently.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Read and follow procedures; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support other service lines and participate in budget and project planning.
  • Interface with customers, subcontractors and vendors professionally.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced, skilled mechanics to work in an industrial environment that includes the retubing of steam surface condensers and heat exchangers. This role requires a high level of proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment, as well as the ability to work independently and adhere to safety protocols.

This position has potential for career progression as knowledge, skills and abilities are developed. Hands-on training will be provided.

This is a full-time position, and the starting salary range is $15 to $27 per hour based upon relevant experience with the opportunity for advancement to managerial positions for qualified hard-working employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic powered tooling, equipment and torquing devices.
  • Operate hand, pneumatic and hydraulic power tools, equipment and torquing devices safely and with proficiency.
  • Employ precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Complete mandatory safety training courses in OSHA 10, Fall Protection, Scaffold Use, and Confined Space Entry as well as other safety training courses as required.
  • Physically capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to access work areas.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and full range of motion to stoop, crawl, crouch, and work overhead.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Be fit for duty and pass site-specific training and/or security background checks as required.
  • Use personal protective equipment as necessary including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe or composite-toe work boots. May be required to use respiratory equipment for protection when necessary.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces following all safety regulations.
  • Be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.
  • Support other service lines including eddy current testing, helium leak inspections, and tube cleaning as requested.
  • Support financial budgeting process for assigned projects or group of projects, assisting with sales forecasting and estimated project volume for planning purposes.
  • Interface with Customers, subcontractors, vendors, department managers, and other stakeholders while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor; gathering information and conducting research as needed to respond to Customers' technical/commercial inquires.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
  • Good teamwork skills to work effectively with coworkers.
  • Strong understanding of the use, operation, and repair of mechanical and pneumatic tooling and equipment.

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Good communication and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, especially regarding any equipment not functioning correctly.
  • Previous experience as a condenser mechanic or in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of condenser operations a plus.
  • Experience in welding a plus.
  • Must be able to pass drug screenings, site access training, security background, and obtain nuclear access.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, the ability to drive, and be capable of operating company vehicles.
  • Must have / be able to obtain a valid passport.
  • Vocational/Technical diploma or certification in related field preferred.
