Job summary

Conhagen is seeking a Field Technician to support our Field Services team by assisting with installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of rotating equipment at customer sites and within shop environments. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical work, safety, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in both field and shop environments, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work in both shop and customer field environments.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, assembly, disassembly, inspection, and repair of rotating equipment.
  • Support field service activities involving pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and related mechanical systems.
  • Assist experienced technicians with equipment troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, work instructions, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with equipment inspections, measurements, and documentation of equipment conditions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and properly.
  • Assist with equipment preparation, cleaning, organization, and proper handling of components.
  • Identify and report damaged equipment, component issues, and unsafe conditions.
  • Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and required job records accurately.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas at customer sites and shop locations.
  • Follow all company safety policies, customer requirements, and HSE procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, technicians, customers, and team members.
  • Participate in training and skill development opportunities.

Position Summary

  • Technical school coursework or training in mechanical repair, industrial maintenance, machining, welding, or related trades.
  • Experience working with pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes, or other rotating equipment.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools.
  • TWIC card or ability to obtain one, depending on location requirements.
  • OSHA or industrial safety training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate machining equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around industrial equipment.
  • Climate‑controlled machine shop environment.
  • Moderate noise levels typical of industrial machining operations.
  • Overtime may be required based on customer and business demands.
  • Work assignments and schedules may change to support operational needs.
