Job summary

Beitzel Corporation in Kentucky seeks a hands-on concrete technician to support industrial, manufacturing, power plant, renewable energy, and other projects across multiple industries. You will pour, finish, and prepare job sites, traveling to diverse sites and adapting to outdoor environments.

Expect to handle forms, rebar, carpentry, and read blueprints while working with a team. The role may require extended hours, holidays, and weekends, with a strong emphasis on safety and hands-on learning

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of concrete experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of concrete and construction practices.

Job description

Position Overview

In this position, you will be an essential part of our team, playing a key role in various concrete construction projects across industries like industrial construction, manufacturing, power plants, renewable energy, and more. Your work will involve getting hands-on with concrete tasks, such as pouring, finishing, and preparing job sites. You'll have the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, from solar and wind energy to oil and gas facilities, contributing to impactful projects that shape the future.

This job offers plenty of variety, with the opportunity to travel to different job sites and work in dynamic environments. You'll be exposed to different industries and gain valuable experience on large-scale projects. The role also requires flexibility; you may need to work some extended hours, holidays, weekends, etc. The physical nature of the work means you'll stay busy and engaged, thriving in an active, hands-on setting.

What You'll Do
  • Perform concrete pours and finishes, rebar, masonry, and carpentry
  • Execute technical aspects of concrete work including installing, dismantling and moving forms, mixing masonry, running vibrators, etc.
  • Learn to read and interpret job documents such as blueprints, drawings, plans, etc.
  • Screed by utilizing mud rakes to manage concrete consistency
  • Provide general, manual labor to other trades as required

Working Conditions

  • Walk/use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or tools / Reach with hands and arms / Climb ladders and stairs / Crawl/kneel / lie down for extended periods of time
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Climb and perform work at heights of 30'+
  • Breathe effectively while wearing a respirator
What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of concrete experience including pours, finishes, rebar, carpentry, etc. preferred
  • General construction/mechanical knowledge and aptitude required
  • Basic welding skills preferred
  • Proficient with basic tools and concrete tools such as trowels, concrete saws, concrete vibrators, screeds, etc.
  • Able to independently operate some small equipment such as forklifts, mini excavators, man lifts, skid steers, trench compactors, etc.
