Van Eaton Ready Mix Inc. seeks a traveling quality control technician to oversee daily QC testing at project sites across the central United States. Travel to multiple locations for extended periods, typically several months.

The role requires strong collaboration with on-site teams and adherence to safety standards. Key duties include field and plant testing, meticulous documentation, and strict compliance with ASTM/ACI procedures.

Qualifications

• One to two years of related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of testing methods per ASTM/ACI procedures is preferred.
• Capable of obtaining ACI Grade 1 field testing certification.

Responsibilities

• Test at project locations to verify concrete testing accuracy and compliance with specs.
• Ensure testing follows ASTM and/or ACI procedures for field testing.
• Document test results, methods, photos, and keep records in the database.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and protect privileged information.
• Present a professional image to customers and employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and participate in safety programs.

Job description

Ensure a safe working environment and oversee daily quality control testing at various project locations across the central United States. Must be willing to travel to different locations for various durations, typically several months at a time. Must maintain a professional appearance, communication, and work environment and be able to work with others, including non-Van Eaton Ready Mix personnel. Endeavor to create and enforce a positive culture of safety. Ensure compliance with all appropriate governmental regulations as they apply to concrete production, concrete delivery, and materials testing. Ensure compliance to the Van Eaton Ready Mix QC/QA policies as applied to the assigned area.

**Projects in region surrounding: Wichita, TX-Seymour, TX-Lubbock, TX-Amarillo, TX-Odessa, TX-Midland, TX**

** This is a traveling position eligible for per diem daily rate $143**

**40 regular/10 overtime hours guaranteed weekly**

**Paid onboarding/initial training will take place in Oklahoma City (hotel stay is paid for by company) and will be traveling to out of state projects once completed.**

Essential Functions:

• Testing at project locations both in the field and at the plant to ensure onsite testing company of record is obtaining accurate results and that the concrete is arriving onsite meeting specifications.
• Ensure that all testing is being performed in strict accordance with the applicable ASTM and/or ACI procedures governing the testing of record.
• Thorough documentation and record keeping of your testing as well as the test results and methods being used by the onsite testing of record company, including database record keeping, photography, test reports and any other record keeping necessary.
• Ensure strict compliance with employment, management, and other company policies, procedures, and principles.
• Maintain confidentiality with privileged information.
• Present favorable company image to customers and employees.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• This is a Van Eaton Ready Mix “safety sensitive” position, which will include a company vehicle along with random drug testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ASTM test methods being used and ACI Grade 1 field testing certification. If not currently certified, must be capable of getting certified. Van Eaton Ready Mix will provide for cost of certification for first attempt provided certification is passed.
• Computer usage including Excel for simple reporting and data recording and email.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• One to two years of related experience and/or a combination of both.
• ACI Grade 1 certification or equivalent preferred.
