Job summary

Ohio Ready Mix is hiring a hands-on QA/Field Technician to support our concrete operations. You will visit job sites, attend pre-pour meetings, promote value-added products, and gather market and project information to drive quality improvements.

You will perform concrete and raw materials testing, record data, and apply quality control procedures. You will also advise management on product issues, conduct audits, coordinate trucks, and communicate with Plant Managers and drivers to ensure

Qualifications

• Experience in concrete and construction preferred (1 year).
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
• Able to climb ready mix truck ladders multiple times per day.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to advance through additional training.

Responsibilities

• Advises management on product issues from customer technical support calls.
• Conducts audits and improves the Quality Performance System.
• Completes required paperwork (reports, forms, letters, etc.).
• Coordinates and routes trucks/drivers at jobsites as needed.
• Communicates with Plant Managers and Drivers.

Job description

• Visits job sites, attends pre-pour meetings, and calls on customers promoting value-added products, collecting market and job information.
• Performs ongoing ACI & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Evaluates data, writes reports and generates graphs and charts to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Evaluates existing quality or productions standards and procedures, recommends modifications, and leads their implementation.
• Advises upper management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through technical support calls with customers.
• Conducts audits and makes ongoing improvements to the Quality Performance System.
• Completes all required paperwork (reports, forms, letters, etc.).
• Helps coordinate and route trucks/ drivers at various jobsites when needed
• Communicates with Plant Managers and Drivers

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to lift 100 pounds
• Ability to push loaded wheelbarrow; approximately 200-300 pounds.
• Ability to climb ready mix truck ladders multiple times per day
• Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
• Must multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and possesses the ability to complete tasks on-time and with little supervision
• Willingness to advance through additional training

• Availability early and late due to contractor need
