Job description

Join to apply for the Concrete Paving Mechanic role at Prince Contracting, LLC

Perform tasks under general supervision on heavy highway and bridge projects, including but not limited to:

1. Operate all necessary equipment, specifically the concrete paving spread.
2. Diagnose and repair/rebuild equipment and vehicles as needed.
3. Perform scheduled repairs and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
4. Operate construction equipment and vehicles for repairs.
5. Perform miscellaneous welding (not requiring certification) for repairs.
6. Aim to maintain zero repeat/redo repairs.
7. Clean equipment and vehicles during repairs.
8. Maintain accurate daily logs.
9. Drive company vehicles for fueling, servicing, and parts procurement.
10. Assist in keeping the shop and job sites organized and clean.
11. Support small tool and equipment maintenance and repairs.
12. Assist with paver size adjustments.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent; up to two years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
2. At least 4 years of experience with heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
3. At least 4 years of experience in field repairs for cranes, forklifts, and boom lifts.
4. Experience with diesel fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
5. Experience with Gomaco and Wirtgen Slip Form Paving Train preferred.
6. Physical ability to climb on/off equipment, handle, move objects, and perform physical activities.
7. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
8. Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
9. Good communication skills.
10. Willingness to work approximately 10 hours/day, 5 days/week outdoors in Florida heat/rain, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
