Truck Driver - Full or Part Time

Truck Driver - Class B CDL

POSITION TITLE: Truck Driver

BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for transporting concrete and products as directed by dispatch and management. Will drive a commercial concrete truck and complete assigned duties in a safe, timely, professional and cost-effective manner. This position may also operate other commercial motor vehicles as assigned, including but not limited to bulker, dump truck, side dump, aggregate truck, semi, low-boy, or other vehicles assigned to Truck Driver.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and DOT (Department of Transportation) medical card. Experience preferred and education in defensive driving techniques desired. Must have physical and mental stamina to perform essential job functions for 12 hours per day.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

Must meet qualifications, task frequency, PPE requirements, and pass pre-employment checks, skill assessments, background checks, drug and alcohol tests, and other DOT-required procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operate commercial trucks and equipment safely, including assembling/disassembling chutes, operating control panels, and unloading concrete.
2. Transport and deliver concrete and products to construction and customer sites under dispatch direction.
3. Update job status using console during deliveries.
4. Ensure proper delivery including slump and additional building products as ordered.
5. Follow safety procedures for unloading and operating equipment.
6. Climb in and out of trucks and ladders frequently, approximately 10-12 feet high.
7. Work within climatic weather extremes, driving, sitting, standing, walking, and climbing.
8. Lift up to 50 lbs with proper techniques, considering safety and environmental conditions.
9. Perform pre-trip and post-trip checks on trucks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure equipment safety.
10. Use and store equipment properly, provide quality customer service, and maintain professional conduct.
11. Inspect outgoing shipments, verify quantities and quality, and document accurately.
12. Report safety issues, deviations, or concerns to management immediately.
13. Complete necessary paperwork timely, including DOT reports and maintenance schedules.
14. Adhere to safety, production, and technical training standards.
15. Attend safety and production meetings and company training.
16. Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed, maintaining punctuality.
17. Read and interpret documents, follow instructions, and wear PPE.
18. Respect authority and perform other duties as assigned.
