Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Chesapeake, Virginia is seeking candidates for a role focused on the production of concrete pipe. You will be responsible for supporting the production process, including setup, pouring, and finishing tasks.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Support production of concrete pipe from setup through shipment.
• Set up and prepare pipe molds.
• Place reinforcing materials per specifications.
• Assist with concrete pouring.
• Support curing process and strip finished pipe from molds.
• Perform basic finishing tasks.
• Operate or assist with vibration equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.

What You'll Do

• Support production of concrete pipe from setup through shipment
• Set up and prepare pipe molds (clean, assemble, apply release agents)
• Place reinforcing materials (steel cages, wire) per specifications
• Assist with concrete pouring using mixers, buckets, or automated equipment
• Support curing process and strip finished pipe from molds
• Perform basic finishing (patching, smoothing, sealing joints)
• Operate or assist with vibration/compaction equipmentMove and stage materials and finished products for curing or shipment
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

• Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and kneeling) for extended periods
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Availability for overtime, including weekends as needed
• Ability to work well on a team to meet production goals
• Basic math and reading skills (measurements, simple drawings)
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Manufacturing, construction, or concrete experience preferred

• High School Diploma or GED required
