Job summary

Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking a skilled Concrete Laborer & Finisher to join our Columbus, OH construction team. This role covers all phases of concrete work, from site prep to finishing, with a focus on quality and safety on a busy job site.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of concrete or construction experience, 5+ years of concrete finishing preferred, and a valid driver's license. CDL is preferred. Join us to contribute to a reliable, safety-focused crew and grow with our company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of concrete or construction experience preferred.
• 5+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crew with all phases of concrete construction, including preparation, demolition, forming, placement, finishing, and cleanup.
• Set forms that hold concrete in place for sidewalks, curbs, floors, and driveways.
• Place, distribute, level, and finish concrete according to project specifications.
• Perform concrete finishing using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Assist with general labor duties to support efficient job-site operations.
• Use shovels, trowels, rakes, and other hand tools as needed.
• Monitor the effects of weather on concrete curing and take necessary precautions.
• Repair and resurface worn or damaged concrete surfaces.
• Meet daily production goals by understanding and performing various aspects of concrete operations.
• Ensure completed work meets job specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Foreman.
