Job summary

Byrne & Jones Construction in Columbus, OH is seeking a skilled Concrete Laborer & Finisher to join our crew. You will contribute to all phases of concrete construction, from site prep to finishing, and help maintain a safe, productive job site.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of concrete or construction experience, 5+ years finishing preferred, a valid driver's license (Class A CDL preferred), and the ability to travel to job sites and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crew with all phases of concrete construction, including preparation, demolition, forming, placement, finishing, and cleanup.
• Set forms that hold concrete in place for structures such as sidewalks, curbs, floors, and driveways.
• Place, distribute, level, and finish concrete according to project specifications.
• Perform concrete finishing using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Assist with general labor duties to support efficient job-site operations.
• Use shovels, lutes, rakes, and other hand tools as needed.
• Monitor the effects of weather on concrete curing and take necessary precautions.
• Repair and resurface worn or damaged concrete surfaces.
• Meet daily production goals by understanding and performing various aspects of concrete operations.
• Ensure completed work meets job specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, customers, and the public.
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Foreman.

This position is ideal for an experienced concrete professional who can contribute to all phases of concrete construction, from site preparation and forming through placement, finishing, repair, and cleanup.
