Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full-time Concrete Laborer to travel in the Adkins, Texas area, performing concrete repair and maintenance on highway infrastructure during the day and occasionally at night. Must meet regulatory standards and company policies.

Requirements include 2 years of concrete experience, ability to operate wheel loaders and skidsteers, and a clean driving record with background checks. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Concrete forming, finishing, and repair: minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with hand tools and small equipment like shovels and brooms.
• Clean driving record; background check will be performed.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of local driving rules and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform concrete repair and maintenance on highway/infrastructure sites.
• Work day or night shifts; day shift 7:00am–3:30pm, night shift 6:00pm–2:30am.
• Operate tools and light equipment safely and adhere to safety rules.

Position Summary:

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Concrete Laborer to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Adkins, Texas area during the day shift, and occasionally in night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway concrete repair/maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Required Experience

• Concrete forming, finishing, and repair experience required - Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, & various small hand tools
• Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, etc operator

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Air compressor operations familiarity
• Guardrail and Sign installation experience
• MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
• Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required

Clean Driving Record Is Essential

Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications

• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Must be able to work rotating day or night shift. Day shift is typically 7am - 3:30pm. Night shift is typically 6pm - 2:30am or once concrete is cured, Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.

Day shift starting rate

Day shift starting rate of $17.00/hr with no prior highway maintenance experience. Guardrail Experience starting rate of $19.50/hr
