Job summary

CPS Inc. is seeking a Concrete Laboratory Manager to oversee testing functions and personnel in the Technical Center concrete laboratory. The role directs the Concrete Services within Technical Services, including hiring, scheduling, directing, disciplining, budgeting, developing and training staff.

Field support is included to optimize mix designs. Requirements include 5+ years in concrete lab testing, and certification(s) are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in concrete mixing and testing in a laboratory environment.
• ACI Level I Technician or NRMC A Level II & III Certified Concrete Technologist preferred but not required.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and geometry.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

• Hire, schedule, direct, discipline, and measure staff performance; budgeting and developing.

Concrete Laboratory Manager Duties:

Manage testing functions and personnel in the Technical Center concrete laboratory Directs the activities of the Concrete Services within Technical Services section. This position manages concrete lab personnel. Managing responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, directing, disciplining, measuring performance, budgeting, developing, and training. Supervises technical service technicians. Prepares reports for distribution. Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system. Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels. Field Technical Support to Optimize Mix Designs

$60,000 - $100,000

Technical Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in concrete mixing and testing in a laboratory environment
• ACI Level I Technician or NRMCA Level II & III Certified Concrete Technologist preferred but not required
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
