Job summary

LTR Contracting Inc is seeking a motivated construction helper to join our residential team. You will work with an experienced foreman, learning different areas of construction while developing skills and taking on greater responsibility over time.

Candidates should have hands-on construction experience, strong work ethic, and good communication skills. The role involves assisting with concrete work, site prep, and reading blueprints, with opportunities to advance to lead or foreman positions.

Qualifications

  • Previous construction experience required.
  • Ability to read measurements and perform basic math.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving history.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with residential concrete and general construction projects.
  • Work alongside foreman and crew, supporting daily tasks.
  • Site prep and cleanup, demolition and removal as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with material pickups, deliveries, and vehicle use when required.
  • Help the team stay on schedule and maintain a clean, safe job site.

LTR Contracting is a growing construction company specializing in concrete and residential construction throughout Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.

This position is a great opportunity for someone who already has hands-on construction experience but wants to continue developing their skills and take on more responsibility over time.

You will work alongside our experienced foreman and crew, learning different areas of residential construction while gaining the knowledge and experience needed to eventually take on a lead or foreman role.

Responsibilities

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with residential concrete and general construction projects
  • Working alongside our foreman and crew
  • Jobsite preparation and cleanup
  • Demolition and removal
  • Grading and site preparation
  • Forming and rebar
  • Concrete placement and finishing
  • Assisting with masonry and other residential construction
  • Reading and understanding blueprints, plans, measurements, and construction drawings
  • Safely using hand tools and power tools
  • Safely operating construction saws and other equipment
  • Loading, unloading, and organizing tools and materials
  • Helping with material pickups and deliveries
  • Driving company vehicles when needed
  • Towing trailers when qualified
  • Communicating jobsite conditions, material needs, and potential issues to the foreman
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
  • Helping the team stay on schedule and complete work efficiently
  • Taking on additional responsibilities as skills and experience grow

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

  • Concrete
  • Masonry
  • Residential construction
  • Framing
  • Forming and rebar
  • Grading and excavation
  • Blueprint and construction plan reading
  • Trailer towing
  • Construction equipment operation
  • Skid steers or mini excavators
  • Crew leadership
