Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Concrete Laboratory Technician to join our Sarasota team. No experience is required as paid training is provided and you will learn under the guidance of experienced professionals.

You will perform basic laboratory tests, assist with sample preparation, and maintain accurate records. Certifications are funded by ECS, and there are opportunities for growth with additional certifications and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience is acceptable.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Lab certifications must be obtained per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds daily.
• Strong communication and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on concrete and construction material samples under supervision
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties
• Performs concrete laboratory testing including but not limited to, with some supervision: Stripping and labeling samples; Setting samples for curing; Monitoring daily temperature logs; Breaking of samples
• Assists in maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment
• Supports calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Maintains calibration records and documentation in accordance with QA/QC and accreditation requirements
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
• Assists with additional laboratory functions and occasional fieldwork as needed
