Job summary

Euclid Chemical in Ohio is seeking a Concrete Lab Technician to perform chemical, engineering and physical tests on concrete-related formulations under the supervision of the Concrete Laboratory Manager. You will set up equipment, document results, prepare samples, and analyze materials to determine physical and chemical properties while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and adhering to safety standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and basic English/math skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read/interpret English safety rules, industry standards and specifications (ACI/ASTM).
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Concrete Admixture Products Group is looking for a Concrete Lab Technician to conduct chemical, engineering and physical laboratory tests primarily based on experimental designs to develop new products, improve existing products, evaluate competitive materials and analyzes test data by performing the following duties under the direct supervision of the Concrete Laboratory Manager. The successful candidate should be computer literate, a self-starter, and able to work in a team environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up laboratory equipment, clean molds and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
• Conducts chemical, physical, and engineering tests on experimental formulas and competitive products.
• Document results of tests, analyses, and maintains lab books in an acceptable manner.
• Completes, maintains, and processes pertinent paperwork and records.
• Prepares experimental products following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.
• Tests and analyzes products such as concrete, cementitious repair products, grout, MCP, cement and other raw materials to determine their physical, chemical, and engineering properties.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required, with 1-3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, including safety rules, industry standards and specifications (e.g., ACI and ASTM), operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedural documents.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to calculate and interpret ratios, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Basic understanding and application of algebraic and geometric concepts.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively as part of a team, remain self-motivated, and learn quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules and hours based on workload and business needs.

Work Environment

The Concrete Lab Technician will work in a laboratory setting, adhering to strict safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires the ability to handle physical demands such as lifting and moving heavy materials of 50+ lbs routinely.

SALARY: $51,000 plus annual bonus program based on % of salary (determined by education and experience)
