Job summary

Pepper Construction is seeking a Concrete Journeyman to join our Dublin, OH on-site team. You will perform a wide range of concrete duties, from setting forms to finishing, working closely with laborers and carpenters on a busy construction site.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years of commercial construction experience, proficiency with industry tools, and flexibility for overtime, nights, and weekends. OSHA 10 and an operator's certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience in commercial construction.
• Proficient in the use of industry tools and equipment.
• Up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work.
• Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, with an ability to multi‑task.
• Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the forms for edge of slab, sidewalks or walls.
• Building forms
• Pouring concrete raking to proper grade.
• Grading and prepping subgrade
• Spreading and smoothing concrete.
• Tooling expansion joints and edges.
• Using stains or colors to add the finishing touch.
• Adding small stones or other materials for decoration.
• Applying waterproofing and sealant to protect the concrete work.
• Install wire welded fabric or re‑enforcing bar

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, as Concrete Journeyman, you may perform any combination of tasks to assist on the construction site. This position performs a wide variety of duties and tasks that often require assisting other tradespeople, including laborers and carpenters.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE

• Setting up the forms for edge of slab, sidewalks or walls.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, preferred
• Proficient in the use of industry tools and equipment
• Up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work
• Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, with an ability to multi‑task
• Task‑oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts
• OSHA 10, preferred
• Operator's certificate, preferred
• Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to adhere to job specifications and make top‑class finishes in concrete work
