Job summary

DCS Contracting, Inc. in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Concrete Formsetter/Finisher to construct high-quality concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, flatwork and related structures.

The role requires physical labor, outdoor work in all weather, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to meet production goals under site supervision. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of concrete construction experience, OSHA knowledge, and a willingness to learn and support project needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience of concrete construction work.
• General knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn and accept direction from field supervision.
• Must be a team player and be willing to help out wherever is needed for the success of the project.
• Safety first mindset, MUST stop work if something is unsafe.
• Reliable transportation and work schedule flexibility.
• Ability to get the job done with minimal supervision.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work site.
• Must be able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Spread concrete to the specified depth using a concrete vibrator or hand tools.
• Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed.
• Responsible for setting the concrete forms, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch.
• Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel, broom, or hand trowel.
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete with abrasive stone or grinder and then create a textured or broomed finished surface.
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Work with buckets and pump truck to place concrete.
• Clean, inspect and perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools.
• Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools.
• Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Safely and efficiently operate and use associated tools and equipment.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned to support completion of project.
• Experience operating general site equipment.
• Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent.
• Adheres to all DCS Contracting safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management.
• Performs other duties as required and assigned
