Job summary

DCS Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Formsetter/Finisher to construct high-quality concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and flatwork across the Greater Phoenix Valley. The role requires 3+ years of concrete construction experience and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate site equipment as needed. Competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered by a locally-owned contractor.

Responsibilities

• Spread concrete to specified depth using vibrator or hand tools
• Level and finish surfaces with straightedge, float, or screed
• Set forms with correct depth and pitch
• Finish surfaces with power trowel, broom, or trowel
• Create textured or broomed finishes; remove defects
• Mold expansion joints and edges with edging tools
• Load, unload materials and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of tools and site
• Operate site equipment safely and efficiently
• Meet production goals as directed by Foreman or Superintendent
• Adhere to safety policies and instructions
• Perform other duties as required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Concrete Formsetter / Finisher is responsible for constructing high quality concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalk, flatwork, catch basins, structures, ramps and aprons.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Spread concrete to the specified depth using a concrete vibrator or hand tools
• Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed
• Responsible for setting the concrete forms, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch
• Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel, broom, or hand trowel
• Remove rough or defective spots from concrete with abrasive stone or grinder and then create a textured or broomed finished surface
• Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
• Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas
• Work with buckets and pump truck to place concrete
• Clean, inspect and perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools
• Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools
• Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards
• Safely and efficiently operate and use associated tools and equipment
• Perform additional job duties as assigned to support completion of project
• Experience operating general site equipment
• Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent
• Adheres to all DCS Contracting safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management
• Performs other duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years experience of concrete construction work
• General knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Willingness to learn and accept direction from field supervision
• Must be a team player and be willing to help out wherever is needed for the success of the project
• Safety first mindset, MUST stop work if something is unsafe
• Reliable transportation and work schedule flexibility
• Ability to get the job done with minimal supervision
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work site
• Must be able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.

This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Must be willing and able to drive within a 60+ mile radius from DCS's office to and from assigned job site.
