Job summary

MEB is seeking an experienced Carpenter to build and install concrete forms and systems for various structures across the Mid-Atlantic Region. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to on-site standards as core values on every project.

Key responsibilities include layout, forming, scaffolding, and installation of embeds, with a minimum of 3 years in heavy construction and strong blueprint reading skills.

Qualifications

• 18 years of Age
• Able to Pass a Drug Test
• Legally Eligible to Work in the US
• If assigned to a government project, US citizenship and clear background check may be required.
• Experience installing underground piping required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare layouts using a rule or measuring tape and framing square.
• Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials using a pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Construct forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above the ground level.
• Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms.
• Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, and steel cables.
• Layout and install embeds in concrete formwork.
• Rigging and flagging cranes. (Additional training will be provided if necessary)
• A minimum 3 years of experience in heavy construction, specifically with knowledge of stick framed, Symons, and gang form systems.
• Ability to read, understand and follow blueprints, diagrams, and grades and instructions from supervisors, lay out the job, and work efficiently with the materials and tools of your trade.
• Able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs.) for an 8 – 10-hour workday.
• The ability to comprehend and follow specific instructions.
• Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, the need for closure, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, being dependable and cooperation.
• Good housekeeping standards and ability to observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions to management.
