Concrete Foreman
Job Requirements:
For this role we are looking for a Concrete Foreman with at least 5 years’ experience in the concrete trade industry. Under the direction of the Concrete Superintendent & Project Manager carry out assignments related to concrete forming, placement, finishing, curing, and cutting. This is a pivotal role for our growing self-perform team.
Oversee, manage, and mentor craft workers (general laborers, rod busters, carpenters, and concrete finishers) while carrying out assignments related to concrete forming, rod busting, placement, finishing, curing, and cutting
Be fully competent in all facets of concrete construction erecting, stripping, setting forms, layout, and understanding plans while supervising a crew of up to 12 employees
Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as proportions, percentages, area, volume, and circumference
Be a hands on foreman not limited to concrete form carpentry, rod busting, placement and finishing of concrete, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs
Oversee and make decisions related to performance of work and review jobsite needs with project staff for logistics, organization, equipment, quality control, and workforce utilization
Have the ability to plan work, monitor how weather conditions (rain, heat, cold) affect the pouring and curing of concrete during the entire pour process
Ensure all formwork is plumb, in plane, secure, at proper elevation and that any embeds and anchor bolts are in their proper location prior to placement of concrete
Running through the pre pour checklist and cross checking plans before placement of concrete
Provide direction to assigned crew
Installation of footing forms
Build and install wall and column forms
Set slab on grade forms
Ensuring a safe working environment
May function as a back up to supervision on-site
Proficient in the use of the following tools: straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, float blades, combo blades, hand tools, sledgehammer, hand saws, power drills, saws, lasers, vibrators, walk behind trowels or riders, and had the knowledge when to use these tools at the proper time during place and finish.
Patching of voids and repair of concrete work; patch and point experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to climb, stand, sit, walk, reach around, bend, crawl, squat and kneel for prolong periods of time
The ability to lift/push/pull up to and not limited to 100 lbs
Working Conditions:
Work occurs on-site and will be mainly outdoors. Must be comfortable working in a changing environment that may expose you to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust, and rain
Work may occur at heights and require the use of a ladder/manlift/scaffold/ or other mechanical platforms to access the working area
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times (safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, gloves, sleeves as needed, face shields, and appropriate work footwear are required
