What we’re looking for…

The Concrete Foreman is one of Greystone’s core roles. They are one of our most critical leadership positions. They are responsible for ensuring that each project undertaken is safely completed on-time and under the budgeted cost estimate while meeting management and customer objectives for safety, quality, and schedule. Their tasks include forming, placing, and finishing concrete.

Major Expectations & Accountabilities...

  1. Maintain personal safety and ensure operations allow for the safety of others.
  2. Safely operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, pumps, power saws, buggies, trawls, pressure washers, forklifts, skid steers, and surveying and measuring equipment.
  3. Perform concrete preparation and finish work on commercial and industrial buildings.
  4. Form and pour strip and pad footings.
  5. Form and pour wall foundations using primarily Symons forms and lumber.
  6. Prepare for pouring concrete including fine grading, placing reinforcing steel, and setting trench drains and bollards.
  7. Pour floors with pump trucks, buggies, screeds, floats, and trowels.
  8. Cut and seal floors after pours.
  9. Demolish existing concrete in commercial buildings.
  10. Patch and repair concrete surfaces in preparation for floor coverings.
  11. Haul demo materials to dumpster.
  12. Unload materials and store efficiently onsite.
  13. Maintain a clean, safe job site!
  14. Keep work areas supplied with materials and clear of construction debris.

What you'll need to be successful...

  1. 2 years previous concrete finishing experience minimum.
  2. Required: OSHA 10 and first aid; preferred: OSHA 30.
  3. Ability to travel to job sites as required.
  4. Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.

Qualifications that can set you apart...

  1. 2-year Associate degree in Construction Trades.
  2. Able to manage and have a high degree of competency in the particular trade being managed.
  3. Ability to prepare and communicate pre-task plans.
  4. Must understand current construction means, methods, and procedures and be able to direct crew to perform to these standards.
