Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil in Louisiana is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our heavy civil construction crew. You will finish surfaces, read blueprints, and ensure accurate grades on projects across Louisiana.

Responsibilities include applying curing compounds, operating small equipment, and maintaining safety. Must have proven finishing experience and be able to work as part of a team in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Finisher in heavy civil construction.
• Proficient with hand and power tools for concrete finishing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/specifications.
• Knowledge of concrete curing processes.
• Physically able to perform demanding outdoor work.
• Reliable transportation to Louisiana job sites.
• OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete surfaces using hand and power tools such as floats, trowels, and screeds.
• Apply curing compounds and protective sealers to finished concrete.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate finishes and grades.
• Cut, shape, and smooth concrete, using roughing and finishing tools.
• Monitor concrete for proper curing and address any imperfections.
• Assist with the setup and dismantling of forms and other construction equipment.
• Operate small construction equipment as needed (e.g., vibrators, power buggies).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other crew members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned on various heavy civil construction sites.
