• Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of assigned trucks and equipment.
• Knowledge of concrete construction equipment, materials, and methods.
• Knowledge of carpentry principles.
• Knowledge of concrete finishing materials, standards, and procedures.
• Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
• Skill in interpreting blueprints.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English and orally in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Measure job sites to ensure preparation of adequate amounts of concrete.
• Mix concrete.
• Construct and maintain sidewalks, driveways, handicap ramps, and large pads.
• Repair cuts in asphalt, curbs, sidewalks, and driveways.
• Repair potholes.
• Operate a backhoe and other equipment as required.
• Order materials and supplies.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of assigned equipment or vehicle; report maintenance needs.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
