Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Completes concrete place and finish trade work.
• Takes direction from supervisor (foreman or superintendent).
• Learns trade of placing, consolidating, and finishing concrete.
• Learns methods for screeding concrete to correct elevations.
• Learns methods for placing and consolidating concrete to grade.
• Learns methods for finishing concrete including timing requirements.
• Learns how mix designs and admixtures affect placing and finishing.
• Learns process for achieving floor flatness and levelness requirements.
• Learns techniques for curing concrete.
• Learns techniques for early entry saw cutting control joints.
• Learns tools and equipment for place and finish operations.
• Learns methods for concrete surface and structural repairs.
• Completes ACI certification course for placing and finishing concrete.
• Introduced to reading and understanding blueprint and specification reading.
• Completes silica awareness training.
