Job summary

Fisher Industries is seeking a Concrete Finisher to smooth and finish poured concrete for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters on highways and bridges. The role requires travel to Welton, AZ, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a supervisory-heavy field environment.

You will work with concrete crews, operate pumps, and use trowels and finishes to meet ACI standards. The job demands physical endurance, willingness to travel, and a solid work ethic.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of heavy civil concrete experience required.
• Able to use screeds and trowel float to smooth concrete.
• Able to climb ladders/stairs and tie-off to forms.
• Extended out-of-town travel, night shift, and/or weekend work required.
• Experience patching to ACI standards (horizontal/vertical).
• Experience checking grades/elevations to meet FF&L tolerances.
• Able to operate vibrator and pump hose.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Work with concrete crew on/around concrete forms, assisting with pour and placements.
• Place concrete using buckets and pump truck.
• Finish concrete to meet tolerances from hard trowel to heavy broom.
• Use bull float, broom and trowel to finish surface.
• Patch horizontal and vertical concrete to specified finish levels.
• Wear respirator where required and follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY SCOPE

The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing and finishing poured concrete for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters for highways, roads, streets, ADA Ramps, and/or bridges.

This position does require travel to Welton AZ.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Work with concrete crew on/around concrete forms, assisting with concrete pour and placements
• Work with buckets and pump truck to place concrete
• Finish concrete to meet horizontal tolerances and finish specs from hard trowel to heavy broom
• Use bull float, broom and trowel machines to finish surface
• Patch horizontal and vertical concrete (class C to class A finish per ACI standards)
• Wear respirator for grinding and other required operations
• Safety, Safety, Safety comply with all OSHA and company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 - 5 years of previous heavy civil concrete experience (preferred)
• Ability to use screeds and trowel float to smooth concrete
• Ability to climb ladders/stairs and tie-off to forms and lifts
• Extended out-of-town travel, night shift, and/or weekend work required
• Experience with patching that meets ACI standards for horizontal and vertical applications
• Experience checking grades/elevations prior to and during pour to ensure FF&L tolerances are met
• Ability to run a vibrator and/or work the pump hose
• Hardworking individual with a positive attitude and great work ethic
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, and rain
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and government background check
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
