Job summary

GR Birdwell Construction is seeking a Concrete Finisher to join its multicraft team in Pasadena, Texas. Under supervision, you will perform concrete placement, finishing, curing, and cutting, selecting equipment and sequence to deliver a quality end product.

You will work with trusted tools and equipment, maintain finish quality across slabs, and contribute to site readiness, curing schedules, and patching as needed. Prior finishing experience and knowledge of FF/FL terminology is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience finishing concrete slabs and curing methods.
• Ability to establish finish grade and ensure FF/FL terminology alignment.
• Comfort using a range of concrete placement and finishing tools.

Responsibilities

• Establishes finish grade during slab pours.
• Performs concrete placement, finishing, curing, and cutting.
• Patches and repairs concrete work and performs joint treatments.
• Uses bull floats, trowels, blades, and hand tools to achieve required finishes.
• Maintains equipment and keeps up-to-date knowledge of tools.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Superintendent/Foreman a Concrete Finisher will carry out assignments related to concrete placement, finishing, curing and cutting based on the proper selection of equipment, materials and finishing sequence needed to deliver an acceptable end product.

Responsibilities and Duties

Participates in the execution and completion of Finisher work, including the following duties:

• Establishes finish grade during the pour of the slabs
• Performs the following concrete placement and finish:
  • placing, finishing curing, and cutting of concrete slabs
  • patching and repairing of concrete work
  • concrete restoration
  • concrete joint treatments
  • applications of floor toppings
• Ensures floor finishes meet project requirements consistent with FF/FL terminology
• Proficient in the use of the following tools and has the knowledge to use the equipment at the proper time of the place-finishing sequence:
  • Straight edges to establish grade
  • Bull Floats, mops and Highway Straight Edges
  • Float blades, combo blades, and finish blades
  • Hand tools for Floor finishing, edging, joint tooling
  • Single and double trowel machines
  • Curing equipment
  • Pump Equipment
  • Vibratory Equipment
  • Walk-Behind Trowels
  • Double Riders
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required
• Ensures proper maintenance of place/finish equipment and tools

Compensation is based on experience
