Job summary

Drake General Contractors LLC is seeking a dependable Concrete Finisher to join our outdoor construction team. You will place, finish, protect, and repair concrete on roads, sidewalks, foundations, and slabs, following blueprints and safety standards.

This role requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work in varying weather. Prior experience and tool proficiency are preferred, and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a concrete finisher or related construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read measurements and construction plans.
• Knowledge of finishing techniques, materials, and tools.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Set forms that hold concrete to desired pitch and depth.
• Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, hand tools, and power tools.
• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using floats, trowels, and screeds.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Apply finishing techniques including broom finish, edging, and joint cutting.
• Monitor curing process and apply curing compounds as needed.
• Repair and patch damaged concrete surfaces.
• Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and project specifications.
• Ensure work is completed according to quality and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Work closely with supervisors, equipment operators, and labor crews.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete on a variety of projects including roads, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, slabs, and other concrete structures. This position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in outdoor environments.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hat, gloves, safety vest, and work boots.

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction and roadway environments.
