Job summary

The Structures Division of H&K Group, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Field Testing Technician responsible for collecting and testing concrete samples to determine physical characteristics for quality control and product development across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate is safety conscious, self-motivated, and experienced. Responsibilities include sampling, testing per ASTM and AASHTO procedures, maintaining records, and communicating results to the quality control team.

Qualifications

• Experience at a ready-mix plant.
• Ability to meet PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, FAA standards.
• Algebra-level math for calculations.
• Rudimentary computer, spreadsheet, and word processor use.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Reliable transportation.
• ACI and NECEPT certifications.
• Ability to fit test and use PPE as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs work according to OSHA, MSHA, and H&K safety policies.
• Follow quality control plans and safety policies.
• Sample and test materials following standard practices and quality plans; includes moisture tests and aggregate gradations.
• Maintain test records and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Calibrate and maintain test equipment to standards.
• Establish lines of communication with plant operations and quality control.
• Generate reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Work with sales team to address customer issues.
