Job summary

The City of Corpus Christi Public Works is seeking a skilled Public Works Technician III – Concrete to perform carpentry and maintenance of city streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and drainage structures. You will lead crews, ensure precise forms, and apply finishing techniques for durable concrete surfaces.

A valid driver's license is required; CDL-Class B with Air Brake endorsement is preferred. Flexibility to work in high-traffic areas and outside hours may be needed, with post-offer

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience.
• Preferred Texas CDL – Class B with Air Brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Leads crews in placing concrete for foundations, sidewalks, curbs, and drainage structures.
• Ensures forms are precise for placement and stability of concrete.
• Applies finishing techniques like bull floating, troweling, and brushing to achieve desired texture.
• Installs precast concrete elements and accessibility features; coordinates carpenters and labor.
• Operates power tools and hand tools for concrete work.
• Maintains stock and communicates supply needs.
• Ensures safety in high-traffic public areas.
