Job summary

Ekedal Concrete is seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator to join us in our Irvine, CA office. The role covers the full estimating process from plan/spec review to subcontractor pricing, quantity take-offs, and bid assembly for owner presentation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or 3–5 years of equivalent experience, with strong math, reading drawings, and proficiency in OST/PlanSwift/CAD/BIM.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
Proficiency with estimating software such as OST, PlanSwift, CAD, and BIM.
Strong math and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Performs quantity take-offs.
Assists in pricing and bidding of construction projects.
Communicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope, materials, and schedule.
Reviews milestone documents for pricing of value opportunities.
Participates in the internal estimate review process.
Assists with final assembly of estimate for owner presentation.
Maintains records of bid information for future reference.
Supports field operations with change order pricing.
Directs and coordinates information to subcontractors.
Prepares contractual exhibits for subcontracts.
Attends industry events representing Ekedal.
Keeps current with estimating technology and safety programs.
