Job summary

Ekedal Concrete is seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator to join our Irvine, CA office. You will participate in all aspects of the bid/estimating process, review plans and specs, and negotiate prices with subcontractors and suppliers.

You will perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bid submissions, while coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate estimates and on-time delivery. This role requires strong math, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, or 3–5 years of estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids and GMP processes.
• Experience with estimating software such as OST, PlanSwift, CAD, and BIM.
• Strong math, analytical, and detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity take-offs.
• Assists in pricing and bidding of construction projects.
• Communicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope, materials, and schedule requirements.
• Reviews milestone documents for value opportunity pricing.
• Participates in internal estimate review process.
• Assists with final assembly of estimate for owner presentation.
• Coordinates and provides information to subcontractors.
• Builds relationships with subcontractors to obtain competitive advantages.
