Job summary

Duties And/or Responsibilities

• Answers phone to take/alter customer's order and complete all required information. Ensure the customer understands all relevant company policies such as “will calls”, additional products over amount ordered, towing charges, and our driver's responsibilities.
• Obtains all pertinent information from customer for accurate and efficient delivery process and verify the information back to customer.
• Verify and obtain method of payment for each order.
• Inform fellow dispatch personnel of special instructions and give adequate notice to ensure proper materials are available.
• Complete understanding of dispatch system, process and maintenance (quotes, product line items, pricing, mix designs, etc.).
• Ability to read maps and follow directions.
• Superior customer service skills, understanding of concrete properties and mix designs, knowledge of applicable government and industry regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, prioritize multiple tasks, strong organizational and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to operate office machines and intermediate level computer skills (Work, Excel, Windows & Outlook).
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written). Self‑motivated, team‑player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.).
• Monitor and discuss production problems with co‑workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of telephone service or order taking in a business environment.
• Concrete and Aggregate product training and dispatch experience preferred.
