Job summary

Gibralter Border Barriers is hiring a Concrete Worker to perform site preparation, forming, reinforcement, and finishing of concrete structures. The role requires the ability to read basic drawings, follow project plans, and operate common concrete tools safely.

You will work outdoors under varying weather conditions, maintain quality and safety standards, and collaborate with a construction crew to complete assignments on time and to specification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous concrete construction, general construction, or related trade experience preferred.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other safety training preferred.
• Additional certifications related to concrete work or equipment operation are a plus.
• Must meet project-specific training, safety, and qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sites and work areas for concrete placement.
• Set up, assemble, brace, and remove concrete forms as required.
• Install and position reinforcing materials per project requirements.
• Measure, mix, pour, spread, screed, level, and finish concrete per plans.
• Monitor concrete placement for correct thickness, grade, slope, elevation, and finish.
• Use hand tools and power tools used in concrete construction.
• Perform patching, repairs, cutting, grinding, chipping, and demolition as needed.
• Assist with placing, vibrating, consolidating, and curing concrete.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage concrete materials, tools, and equipment.
• Follow drawings, specs, layout, and foreman instructions.
• Inspect work areas and finished concrete for quality; identify issues.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe condition and report damage.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety requirements and PPE usage.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Perform other duties related to concrete construction.
