Wells in Ashland City, TN, is seeking a Batch Plant Operator to accurately batch concrete and operate batching equipment while supporting daily plant operations. You will work closely with Production and Quality teams to maintain safety standards and ensure high-quality output.

The role emphasizes hands-on work, reliability, and teamwork in a safety-first environment. You’ll perform routine maintenance, manage materials, and coordinate with vendors to keep operations efficient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills to work with team and leadership.
• Basic math skills including ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of materials and products used in batching operations.
• Adaptable and open to process improvements and operational changes.
• Ability to lead with professionalism, respect, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Production and Quality Control to ensure accurate batching and documentation.
• Operate batching equipment, forklifts, loaders, trucks, and crane-ways.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance in partnership with Maintenance.
• Order and manage materials for batch plant operations.
• Schedule and coordinate deliveries with external vendors.
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures and policies.
• Batch concrete accurately based on job specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues and drive continuous process improvements.
• Perform basic calculations for mix designs and material quantities.
• Maintain cleanliness of the mixer area and inspect equipment regularly.
