Job summary

Tex Mixconcrete is seeking a Batchman to operate a ready-mix batch plant, oversee daily production, and ensure timely deliveries. You will work with managers and drivers to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency on site, handling materials, equipment, and paperwork.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 years old required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in concrete production, incl. 1 year as a concrete mixer driver preferred.
• Current, valid state driver’s license required.
• Current, valid CDL preferred.
• ACI Field Grade 1 Certification preferred or ability to pass tests.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Proficient in basic math and measurements.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Trackit, Batch Systems.

Responsibilities

• Open and close plant facilities.
• Perform moisture cookouts daily when necessary.
• Order raw materials to meet needs.
• Maintain inventory control to minimize waste.
• Perform slump and quality tests on concrete loads.
• Operate batch console to produce ready mix concrete.
• Communicate with drivers and customers for efficient service.
• Keep plant equipment and areas clean and in good repair.
• Ensure trucks are clean and free of concrete buildup.
• Coordinate with managers to use personnel efficiently.
• Provide safe working environment and report safety issues.
• Inform dispatch of any issues impacting service.
• Coordinate with support departments to resolve issues.
• Complete delivery tickets and administrative tasks.
• Handle returned concrete per plant procedures.
• Direct workers during the day when needed (not a supervisor).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
