NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Mineola is seeking a Concierge - Part Time, Benefits Eligible. You will create a welcoming first impression, assist patients and visitors, and act as a liaison to other departments to ensure needs are met promptly and professionally.

You will provide wayfinding, answer questions at the lobby desk, and support patient relations while collaborating with staff to deliver outstanding customer service and a positive hospital experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in Customer Service/Hospitality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills.

Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Concierge - Part Time, Benefits Eligible - Mineola.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression and enhance the patient and family experience. Proactively interacts with patients, families, visitors and staff to ensure a positive first impression, that all interactions are helpful and needs are taken care of in a prompt and professional manner. Responsible for providing personalized service in accordance with the standards of the Hospital. Serves as a primary resource for patients, families and visitors seeking information, and acts as a liaison between visitors and other departments in an effort to provide exceptional customer service. Serves as a guide for patients, families and visitors, facilitates information and wayfinding request and anticipate their needs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provides a warm and friendly greeting to patients, families and visitors upon arrival and departure. Provides wayfinding services for patients and visitors using maps and other tools to various hospital locations. Assures the customer is directed to the appropriate department without exception.
• Answers questions on the spot at lobby desk and responds to requests in a professional manner using exceptional customer service skills. Answers incoming phone calls with NYU Winthrop greeting, determines purpose of the call and transfer to the appropriate area or department.
• Informs patients, families and visitors of hospital and community services as well as amenities that are available and initiates and delivers service recovery when necessary.
• Anticipates the customer s needs and concerns, answers their questions and takes appropriate action. Follows up with customer concerns and assists in resolution of issues in a timely manner, collaborating with Patient Relations Department.
• Collaborates with all staff and departments and provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Escalates questions and provides timely resolution to patients and families.
• Assists in maintaining lobby appearance and individual work area.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a High School or GED. 1 - 2 years Customer Service/Hospitality Position (Hospital,Hotel, Retail, Customer Experience). Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and organization skills. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel). Strong customer service andHospitality skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree In any field. 3 - 5 years Customer Service/Hospitality Position (Hospital,Hotel, Retail, Customer Experience). Electronic Medical Record Experience.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $31.72 - $29.34 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
