Job summary

Cottage Health is seeking a Concierge for Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital's Customer Care department. You will greet, screen, and guide guests entering the hospital and serve as a conduit to admitting staff or service lines.

You will contribute to guest experience by participating in service enhancement programs and patient-focused initiatives. Qualified candidates have at least two years of front-of-house or guest-service experience, basic computer skills (Excel/Word), and may be bilingual.

Qualifications

• Education: Preferred two years of general college coursework.
• Technical requirements: Intermediate computer skills (70%+) with Excel, Word and 35 wpm; Outlook preferred; basic medical terminology; bilingual skills.
• Years of related work experience: Minimum two years front-of-house or guest-service experience.
• Preferred: service experience at a four-diamond property or higher within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greets and screens guests entering the hospital as a Concierge for SBCH Customer Care.
• Acts as navigator to guests and connects them to admitting staff or service lines as needed.
• Contributes to guest experience through service enhancements and special programs.

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Concierge for theirSBCH Customer Care department responsiblefor promoting an overall culture of safety, service excellence and authentic hospitality by providing concierge services to our guests. Serves as a greeter, screener, and navigator to those attempting to enter the hospital and a conduit for patients to the admitting staff or the relevant service line. Contributes to the guest experience by helping create and/or working within service enhancement programs such as Benefactor/Special Guest, The Little Cottages, Sleep Room Program, Loan Out Program, etc.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

• Preferred: 2 years of general college coursework.

Technical Requirements:

• Minimum: Intermediate computer skills = 70% or above with Excel, Word & 35 wpm.
• Preferred: Intermediate user of MS Outlook. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and hospital services. Basic knowledge of insurance carriers and types of medical coverage. Bilingual skills.

Years of Related Work Experience:

• Minimum: 2 years of front of the house or guest service-related experience.

Preferred: Service experience at four diamond property or higher within less than 24 months of hire.

*Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable.
