Overview

The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the food & beverage serving of guests in the arena at various concessions stands, bars, and portable food & beverage locations. The Concessions Supervisor must be personable and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The Concessions Supervisor will assist the Concessions Manager and the rest of the OVG leadership team with projects including training, inventory, and special events.

The Concessions Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly wage of $14.00 to $16.00.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper set-up of all concessions locations prior to doors, including verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to concession workers (employee/volunteer), ensuring sanitation standards are met, and verifying operational readiness.
  • Provide a high level of oversight and operational expertise resulting in the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events.
  • Train new & current employees regarding property procedures & best practices.
  • Cover/back-up any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards are met.
  • Ensure a safe work environment free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns and relay issues to management.
  • Make event staff and volunteers aware of workplace expectations; provide ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring; promote a positive workplace environment.
  • Obtain working knowledge of all existing concession locations and procedures.
  • Supervise the service of beverages to guests, including verifying IDs for alcohol purchases.
  • Assist in recording guest orders and relaying them to the kitchen via the P.O.S. system.
  • Observe guests and respond to additional requests, determining when meals are completed.
  • Compute the cost of meals and present checks to guests; accept payments and provide change as necessary.
  • Recommend dishes and explain menu items.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
  • Ensure location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of events.
  • Recognize intoxicated guests and take action to cut off alcohol service.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Practice excellent Human Resources skills regarding employee relations and complete necessary HR paperwork.
  • Assist Management with projects including training, inventory, and special events.
  • All other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a food & beverage environment.
  • Ability to supervise others effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions related to cash transactions and inventory.
