Job summary

Spooky Nook Sports Ohio LLC is hiring Concessions Cooks to oversee high-quality food preparation in the complex's food court and concessions areas. The role emphasizes guest experiences, profitability, and adherence to company standards at a pay starting at $16/hour.

As a full-time team member, you will lead kitchen staff, follow standard recipes, and ensure freshness, quality, and safety while working a schedule that includes evenings and weekends at the North America's largest indoor sports

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or vocational background with 2+ years in a cook role.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Leadership experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Fluent in English with ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard recipes and execute large-batch cookery.
• Lead production and supervise kitchen staff in a timely manner.
• Maintain quality and appearance of all foods from the kitchen.
• Monitor par levels and manage food storage using FIFO.
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and storage.
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen work areas and equipment.

Concessions Cooks at Spooky Nook Sports will help to oversee preparation of high-quality food items in the food court and concessions areas throughout the complex. They will focus on creating incredible experiences for guests in the complex through the preparation of food in accordance with company standards while maintaining profitability goals.

The pay for this position will start at $16/hour. Weekend availability is required with an emphasis on working Wednesday-Sunday.

Essential Job Functions

• Follow standard recipes and execute larger batch cookery


• Contribute to the large production of food items and lead production in an orderly and timely fashion


• Lead kitchen staff members by example, providing training, coaching, and feedback when necessary


• Maintain highest quality and appearance of all foods sent from kitchen


• Monitor par levels according to production sheet to maintain food freshness and quality


• Rotate all foods and complete corresponding production chart


• Avoid unnecessary food waste by ensuring proper portion control


• Complete proper storage of leftovers using dating procedure


• Manage all kitchen work areas for daily cleanliness including refrigerators and counter space


• Requisition food supplies from storerooms into proper storage with FIFO standard and in compliance with health regulations


• All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a culinary degree or vocational background in culinary and at least 2 years of experience working in a cook position


• Must be 18 years of age or older


• Dependable transportation to and from work


• Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication


• Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary


• Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed


• Authorized to work in the United States


• Experience in a leadership role


• Ability to distinguish ingredients by taste, smell, or sight


• Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
