Job summary

ASM Global's Peoria Civic Center is seeking a concessions cook to prepare food for venue events, uphold food safety standards, and support fast-paced service in a dynamic arena setting.

Qualifications include a current ServSafe certification, English fluency, and at least one year of food service experience. The role reports to Stand Leads and the Concessions Manager and requires reliable transportation.

• Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Exercise efficiency during high-volume events and peak periods.
• Communicate with supervisors about stock and replenishment.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comply with health department standards.
• Prepare food for concessions during venue functions.
• Maintains knowledge of menu offerings, recipes/ingredients.
• Setup of kitchen/concessions food prep areas.
• Build prep station with all ingredients necessary for service.
• Maintain proper cooking temperatures and ensure food is held and stored safely.
• Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, taste, and presentation.
• Can execute cooking multiple orders at a consistent pace.
• Work efficiently during high-volume events and maintain service times during peak periods.
• Monitor food levels and communicate with supervisors when additional product is needed.
• Minimize food waste through proper preparation, portioning, and product rotation.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
• Immediately reports allergy concerns and dietary restrictions to supervisor.
• Cleaning of the kitchen/concessions area, restocking supplies, etc. post-event.
• Follows standard procedures and methods for preparation of menu items.
• Always maintains a professional appearance.
• Arrives at work in uniform on time as scheduled.
• Follows instructions of supervisors and managers.
• Attend pre-event meetings.
• Interacts with patrons and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
• Accommodates patron requests in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position reports Directly to the Stand Leads and Concessions Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current ServSafe certification required.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to use an electronic timeclock for recording hours worked.

• Must have reliable transportation.
