Concessions Attendant

Department: Parks and Recreation

Reports to: Superintendent of Parks and Recreation

Location: Roeland Park Aquatics Center

Days/Hours: Varied Schedule, 30-40 hours/week

Wage Range: $8.50/hr to $10.63/hr

FLSA: Part-time, Non-exempt

Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years of age

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Concession Attendant performs all duties associated with concession operations on a daily basis and performs general cleaning duties and litter control of the swimming pool complex and surrounding area. Responsible for the safe and proper handling of all food items as well as the accurate record of all moneys received, constant attention to the cleanliness and sanitation of the pool deck, bathrooms, and surrounding area.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
  • Ability to maintain clean and sanitary concession area including, but not limited to removing trash, sanitizing work surfaces, sweeping and mopping.
  • Ability to clean and stock pool restrooms.
  • Ability to take concessions orders, provide correct change and operate computer point of sale system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The applicant must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve frequent walking, standing; some lifting and carrying objects of moderate weight (25-50 lbs.); and the operation of vehicles, office equipment and hand tools in which manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination are important ingredients of safe and/or productive operations.

Environmental Requirements: Tasks may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as inclement weather, heat, and extreme cold.

Sensory Requirements: Tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Task requires oral communications ability.
