Job summary

Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) seeks a Concession Associate for The Chicago Theatre to prepare beverages, food, and merchandise during events, delivering friendly service and maintaining cleanliness.

This part-time, event-driven role requires strong customer service, the ability to handle transactions without a register, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays in a fast-paced venue.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Must be able to handle transactions without a register.
  • Must be comfortable with heights.
  • Must be able to complete daily and nightly inventory.
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the ability to work at least 4 days/nights a week including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have strong communication skills with the ability to multi-task and partner with asst. supervisors to handle customer service issues.
  • Must be flexible to rotate positions within a shift.
  • This position is part time and event driven.
  • Bartending license is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mixes, garnishes, and services alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests.
  • Selling various food, beverage & merchandise items throughout the theatre and front-of-house.
  • Prepare display merchandise & sell products to patrons in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Assist stand leads and supervisors in the set-up of the assigned selling area.
  • Verify cash bank, complete and sign a cashier’s worksheet in the money room.
  • Notify the Team Lead of product that requires replenishment during an event.
  • Have a working knowledge of the theatre policies and important locations, i.e. restrooms, telephones, medical, security, etc.
  • Answer and direct patrons in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist Team Lead in the closing down of concession and bar areas at the conclusion of an event.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains Health Dept. standards and executes the procedures in place.
  • Adheres to TEAM training guidelines
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Who are we hiring?

The Concession Associate is responsible for preparing beverages, food, and merchandise items to sell to guests during events in a friendly & courteous manner at The Chicago Theatre. This position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of their assigned location, processing cash and charge transactions and assisting Team Leads with timely set-up and breakdown of all work areas, specifics in food safety, food production, guest relations, equipment use and maintenance.

Special Requirements
  • Must be able to handle inclement weather, due to theatre doors being open.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment
  • Comfortable with prolonged standing, bending, and walking; ability to climb and descend multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment or supplies. Constant motion is often required.
  • Must be able to work within an environment with loud noises and everchanging visuals.
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50-70 lbs.
  • This role involves trash, including bending and/or kneeling to pick trash up from floors and in between seats.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and company safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) if needed.

Hourly Pay Range $17.50 — $17.50 USD
