Summary:

Schedule: Full-Time, Regular The Concert Operations Manager manages all Box Office and Front-of-House operations, Event Bookings, and Performance Calendar website event listings for all performance-related activities at SFCM. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Artistic Operations, the Concert Operations Manager oversees the Box Office Coordinator and Box Office student staff, assists the Associate Dean in season planning and performance scheduling, and collaborates with the Rentals and Production teams in advancing rental events.

Front-of-House Management
  • Supervise Front-of-House activities for higher-capacity performances and other events to ensure a smooth patron experience and resolve challenging situations with professionalism
  • Serve as House Manager as needed, including on evenings and weekends
  • Collaborate with the Production department to recruit, hire, and train Front-of-House student staff
  • Manage seat reservations for all performances
  • Supervise crowd control and in the event of an emergency, follow protocols and help direct evacuations in collaboration with the onsite Production Lead and Security teams
  • Advance venue rentals in coordination with external clients and the Rental Events Manager
  • Lead weekly cross-departmental events meeting
Box Office Operations
  • Create and maintain the Performance Calendar on SFCM’s website, ensuring all performance information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Manage all ticketed performances via SFCM’s ticketing platform, Spektrix, to managing seating charts, ticket sales, and patron communications
  • Recruit, train, and manage all Box Office student staff to reserve tickets, answer patron phone calls, and run Will Call for ticketed performances
  • Oversee the creation of printed programs and manage the approval process for main series programs
  • Pull events and attendance data for grant applications and reporting
Event Bookings
  • Oversee the collegiate student recital scheduling process, ensure program information is received in a timely manner, and manage rescheduling and cancellation requests
  • Assist the Associate Dean of Artistic Operations with the scheduling of concerts, recitals, and other events in performance halls
  • Manage room bookings for the internal SFCM community via the room scheduling software EMS and the online booking service, WebEMS
  • Create and maintain booking policies and guidelines
  • Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts in a professional and efficient manner
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A minimum of three (3) years professional experience working in the field of arts administration with a four-year undergraduate degree or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in event management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exemplary planning and organizational skills ? Highly adaptable, positive, patient, and professional
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with SFCM administrative staff, faculty, students, patrons, and alumni
  • Ability to work with and maintain complex database systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive applications
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required for the selected candidate
